Towcester Plans Recommended For Approval.

News of plans for a new greyhound track in early 2011, to be built at Towcester Racecourse, lead to a planning application being submitted to South Northants Council in Sept 2011.

Towcester Racecourse Company, founded by Lord Alexander Hesketh, hopes to be able to prop up its horse racecourse by building a greyhound track, as reported in Oct 2011, where Lord Hesketh spoke:
'In terms of our income it has halved to half a million and it may well halve again over the next few years. This has been quite apparent for about the last five years and something had to be done to make sure the racecourse is profitable.'

So greyhounds are to suffer further in order that horses may continue to suffer.

The planning application is to be considered by South Northants Council on Thursday 23rd Feb(2012)with a recommendation for approval of full planning permission.
