Aid Organisation to raise funds through a 'night at the dogs'

Irish International Aid Organisation, Bothar, offers a 'night at the dogs' as a fundraising event.

Bothar are asking for people to join in on 'an evening of fun and excitement before Christmas in Cork's beautiful Curraheen Park greyhound Stadium' on the 15th December.

Bothar 'offer' choices in supporting their 'night at the dogs' to help raise funds to 'set up a new creamery in Cyangugu, Southern Rwanda-an area which is already home to over 400 Bothar dairy cows. The creamery will give added value to the milk produced by the farmers and will also create employment.'

Whilst Bothar are working hard for people around the world stricken with poverty, by encouraging and facilitating sustainable developments with the communities in need of aid, it seems a great shame they look to Greyhound racing to raise their much needed funds.

Please politely contact Bothar:
danm@bothar.ie
jmeehan@indigo.ie

Asking them to consider an alternative and ETHICAL means to fund raise for this 'night at the dogs' and future fundraising events.
No Greyhound should suffer, let alone to raise monies to help those in need.
Do Bothar wish to be associated with an industry sustained in the abuse of thousands of Greyhounds?

Also in a recent similar vain from the UK

Former Mayor of Bexley(London Borough)Councillor Val Clark recently raised funds for worthy causes, through 'greyhound racing'.

Please (also) politely contact Councillor Val Clark:
councillor.val.clark@bexley.gov.uk

Also asking her to consider ETHICAL ways for future worthy fundraising.

IGB partner up with Express Bus.

Express Bus, Bus and Coach Hire Dublin have partnered up with the Irish Greyhound Board to offer transport services for gamblers to Harold's Cross greyhound stadium(Dublin).

With the website stating:
'In Ireland the governing body that regulates greyhound welfare and living conditions is the Irish Greyhound Board or IGB. Aside from ensuring that greyhounds are healthy and are in good condition before they enter the race, it is also their task to facilitate overall examinations on greyhounds to make sure they are free from any medical condition'

Please contact Express Bus.
Explaining the inherent abuse that greyhounds endure for the (Irish) Government subsidized industry.
Please let them know how, despite the IGB 'ensuring that greyhounds are healthy and are in good condition....',the IGB admit how 20,000 - 27,000 greyhounds are born in Ireland every year for the industry and how that they admit:
'even with a European market however, there are still too many greyhounds and not enough homes'
From 'adopt an Irish greyhound' website, proudly once passed on to GS by Barry Coleman(welfare manager IGB).

Contact Express Bus.
Please keep your emails polite, add the link above where IGB admit to too many greyhounds being bred. Explain how tens of thousands of greyhounds, globally, suffer abuse and deaths(in varying degrees)to sustain this industry.
